Crossing the Sinai
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Help Lawrence cross the procedurally generated Sinai Desert following a few footprints.
This is a game for the MovieGameJam based on a scene from the 1962 film: Lawrence of Arabia. In this scene, Lawrence has to cross the Sinai desert without a compass using only the knowledge that he has to go West and following existing trails.
This game tries to replicate this experience. I hope you enjoy. Also... It is strongly inspired by the brilliant Sandstorm by Daniel Linssen. So if you feel like playing a great game about crossing a desert, check that out.
Controls
WASD or Arrow Keys or Controller DPad or Left Analog Stick.

Install instructions
Extract and run to play.
For the linux version, you might need to change the file properties to executable.
Windows Defender may complain about the game... As far as I know this is a false alarm.
Also it does not like windows scaling so I uploaded a windowed version only. It you have problems, try to:
1: Set to ignore the scaling in the compatibilities tab of the executable properties
2: disable the windows scaling

Cool game but very easy for me
cheers!
Very nice game and great entry for the Movie Game Jam! Good Job!!
Good job! The game is not too hard, and just long enough. Do the sandstorms increase as you go further? It was tense at times not knowing if a water gourdon or a quicksand was around the corner. Also visually very consistent which helps with atmosphere.
thanks for taking the time to check it out! The sandstorms do increase as you progress. I'm glad you found it tense. That's the feel I was looking to achieve with this exercise.
